Jon Obika, Tottenham's forgotten young English striker, continues to press his case for a surprise late inclusion in Harry Redknapp's 25-man squad for next season.
With no offensive additions likely in the near future and the futures of striker Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko in doubt, Obika has seen an opportunity and made the most of pre-season minutes with two goals in four games, including Tottenham's equaliser in the 2-2 New York Football Challenge Final against Sporting Lisbon on Sunday evening.
So is there really room for the pacy youngster with an eye for goal? How would your 25 look? Mine would currently be as follows:
GOALKEEPERS: Gomes, Cudicini, Pletikosa?
DEFENDERS: Corluka, Hutton, King, Dawson, Kaboul, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Naughton
MIDFIELDERS: Lennon, Bentley, Bale, Modric, Palacios, Huddlestone, Kranjcar, O'Hara, Bostock
FORWARDS: Keane, Defoe, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko, Dos Santos
